Biography/Exhibitions

_____________________

The framework of Karl Ohiri's practice consists of two overlapping points of interest; ‘cultural studies’ and 'the human condition’. This is explored through personal and public encounters primarily using photography, video and performance.

Since completing his Masters at Goldsmiths University in 2008, his artwork has been a mixture of conceptually driven, documentary based works that consist of real and constructed images and the re-contextualisation of pre-existing artefacts.

His work has been exhibited internationally and in various galleries including; The New Art Exchange, Nottingham, Heathrow Terminal 5, Lagos Photofestival, Nigeria and Tate Britain, in Family Matters, curated by Hansi Momodu- Gordon.
