Rob Smith,'Beacon', 2011 sees a road traffic beacon installed in the garden of the
Agency Gallery, London.   A camera captures an image of it at regular intervals and adds
the image to an animation sequence. At sunset each day the piece is activate and will
broadcast the beacon live from the Agency until dawn.The two intervals, the flashing of
the light and the capturing of the images are not synchronised. During the course of the
night randomly generated pattern of on-off is created in an expanding animation sequence. _______________________________________________________________
